Here are two Z93 jingles and a “Makin’ it with Music” Legal ID sweeper from the station formerly known as “Whizzim FM.” At least that’s what my friends from La Crosse called it back in the 1970s. Just plain old “Whizzim” was 1410AM. The first two cuts are jingles, recorded in November, 1982. The third cut is a Legal ID, recorded in February, 1983. The middle cut contains…gasp!…dead air!
I snagged these from Apple Valley, Minnesota, using a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver, Winegard 10 element FM yagi antenna, Alliance U-100 Tenna Rotor, and Belden RG59 ultra low loss coaxial cable. The recording was made using a Technics stereo cassette deck. Scotch Dynarange 90 tape was used to save the first two cuts. A TDK SA90 was pressed into service for the third cut.
