KWSO-FM 91.9 Warm Springs OR Sign Off 1989

KWSO is a non-commercial radio station, owned by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Oregon.  In 1989, they owned 2 stations: KWSO-FM, as well as commercial KWSI-FM.  KWSI has since been sold, but KWSO remains a source of news, information, and entertainment for Warm Springs and the surrounding area.  From what I was told when I lived in the area, KWSI stands for Kahneeta Warm Springs Indians.  KWSO stands for Kahneeta Warm Springs’ Other (radio station.)

Jim Malloy was KWSO’s Chief Engineer.  He voices the sign off announcement heard here.  Prior to sign off, a female announcer is heard.  If you can identify her, please let me know so that I can give proper credit.

This was recorded from Madras, Oregon using a Realistic AM/FM/CD/cassette portable stereo, built-in telescoping antenna, and Memorex dBS 90 tape.
