WIND-AM 560 Chicago IL 1982

I’ve occasionally mentioned how various stations were “Country before Country was cool.”  Well, WIND was Talk before Talk Radio was cool.  Six years before Rush Limbaugh rolled out nationally, “Talk Radio 56 Chicago” was alive and well.  At my location in Apple Valley, Minnesota, WIND and KWTO would fight for 560Khz at night.  However, I could usually separate them out by switching among multiple horizontal long wire antennas to obtain the best signal for each station.

Also used for the reception and preservation of this aircheck was a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver, Technics stereo cassette deck, and Scotch Dynarange tape.
