Here’s a very short clip of KTRF, on location in the summer of 1983. I believe the jock is Rick Gustafson and I think they’re broadcasting from the county fair. However, I’m not certain on either count. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I grabbed this as part of a dial scan from my grandparents’ house in Michigan, North Dakota. The adjacent channel splatter you hear is from KDLR/Devils Lake which was just 10Khz away on 1240. Still, not a bad trip for KTRF from nearly 100 miles distant with just 1,000 watts. The soil conductivity in this part of the country is amazing!
This was received/recorded using a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette stereo portable unit. Source tape is a TDK D90.
