During this time, Mark Spangler was doing overnights and morning news for Super 97. It made for a long workday, but Mark was a trooper and didn’t mind it. I had worked with him the previous year when I was doing 7-Midnight on Super 97 KRIT. Here is some of Mark’s newscast which I had joined in progress. The Legal ID sweeper is also included, voiced by Steve Adler. Steve voiced all 3 Linder CHRs (KDOG, KKCK, and KRIT) as well as hosting afternoons at Y94 (WDAY-FM) in Fargo.
This aircheck was recorded from Apple Valley, MN, approximately 180 miles north-northeast of KRIT’s transmitter. To hear it, I used a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver, Winegard 10 element FM yagi antenna, Alliance U-100 Tenna Rotor, and Belden ultra low loss RG59 coaxial cable. The recording was made using a Sears stereo cassette deck and BASF 60 minute normal bias cassette.
