In 1982, KLIZ-FM was “Power Radio for Mid-Minnesota.” This eventually morphed into the “Power Loon” moniker which they have used for the past several decades. I believe KLIZ-FM was fully automated at the time (?) This aircheck contains multiple clips, approximately 3 months apart. They are obviously automated at both times. You even get to hear the tape tones as the system misfires! 🙂
I received this from Apple Valley, Minnesota, using a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver, Winegard 10 element FM yagi, Alliance U-100 Tenna Rotor, and Belden ultra low loss RG59 coaxial cable. The recording was made with a Technics stereo cassette deck. Scotch Dynarange 90 tape was used on the November, 1982 recording. TDK SA90 tape was used on the February, 1983 clip.
