“Hit Radio KG95” was a 25-share 12+ monster in Siouxland during this time! This station never stopped, even during the overnight hours. I had the pleasure of doing 7-Midnight on this station, but chose to leave earlier that year. Now back in Apple Valley, Minnesota, I’d point my beam down there on a regular basis to aircheck my “old” station. Of course, this was before KCHK-FM 95.5 in New Prague signed on. Since it would be directly in my path, there’s no way you could hear KG95 today from my location.
The quality equipment making this reception possible consisted of a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver, Winegard 10 element FM yagi antenna, Alliance U-100 Tenna Rotor, and Belden ultra low loss RG59 coaxial cable. This recording was made to a Sears stereo cassette deck with a BASF 60 minute normal bias tape.
