In the summer of 1983, KKXL AM and FM were running completely separate formats. XL93FM was engaged in a take-no-prisoners CHR battle with ‘crosstown rival Y95. Meanwhile, 14 KKXL aired an Adult Contemporary format. Both stations did very well in the market. Here, Scott Dooley holds down the fort on AM’s side of the building.
This was received/recorded from my grandparents’ house in Michigan, North Dakota. Equipment used was a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette stereo unit and a TDK D90 tape.
