Here is a brief clip from “The Sound of the Gorge, Q104.” Not sure who the jock is on this aircheck. If you know, please drop me a line. As many of you are aware, this station was downgraded and moved to Covington, Washington. It was a lengthy and very controversial process. There are many, including myself, who don’t believe that a viable station with the strongest FM signal in the region should have been allowed to abandon it’s community and move over 200 miles to become just another station in the crowded Seattle-Tacoma market. Such is the state of the radio industry in 2019.
As I mentioned, KMCQ’s signal contour was impressive. No problem hearing them in Madras which is where this was recorded. I used a Realistic AM/FM/CD/cassette portable stereo unit with Memorex dBS 90 tape.
