Lite Rock 105 was one of two Adult Contemporary FM outlets in Fargo/Moorhead. The other was KFGO-FM which is covered on a previous exhibit. KLTA was the former KBWS-FM 104.9 which had been moved in from Breckenridge, Minnesota. The frequency was shifted up one channel to 105.1, allowing effective radiated power to be increased from 3,000 to a full 100,000 watts.
This aircheck is short, but it’s all I have. I grabbed it during the overnight hours from Apple Valley, Minnesota. Equipment used was a Pioneer SX-3900 receiver, Winegard 10 element FM yagi antenna, Alliance U-100 Tenna Rotor, and Belden ultra low loss RG59 coaxial cable. The recording was made to a Sears stereo cassette deck with a BASF 60 minute normal bias tape.
