There’s nothing fancy here. Just one of the sweepers used by Q96FM towards the end of 1991. At this time, the battle was pretty fierce between the Q and WDIZ “Rock 100.” Eventually, WJRR-101.1 entered the Rock battle under Bud Paxson’s ownership and it became a three way race. In the end, WDIZ dropped out and Q96FM flipped to Classic Rock.
This aircheck was recorded from my location, 6 miles south of Ocala. I used a Realistic AM/FM/CD/Cassette portable stereo and Sony LN90 tape. Also in my arsenal: a medium sized outdoor TV antenna with the VHF-LO elements cut to resonance for FM frequencies.
